About us

Welcome to the Lakeville Martial Arts Club.  It is my honor to have the opportunity to teach at the former Ted Williams Camp in Lakeville.  The Ted Williams Camp has always brought to mind our children.  It started as a dream and is focused on our community, family, and most of all, our children.

Children are what our endeavor is all about. We truly believe that children should be involved in positive environments.  The more positive the environment, the more they seem to learn.  The more they learn the more positive they become... The more positive they become, the better equipped for life they tend to be.

We share in your excitement and great anticipation for your advancement in the study of Tae Kwon Do.  John Marando has been involved in Martial Arts for 12 years.  The Lakeville Martial Arts Club prides itself of having quality instruction.  We do this by having in depth knowledge of the subject matter combined with gaining a personal relationship with the students.

You have made a commitment to yourself to grow and improve your lifestyle through the Martial Arts and we look forward to your new improved mental and physical abilities.

A common parental worry is that Martial Arts training will encourage violence or aggression in their child.  With the rare exception, the opposite will prove to be true.  Children discover an inner confidence and strength, which enables them to move beyond the need to prove themselves physically.  They frequently find they have the courage to walk away from an explosive situation.  They also develop a higher tolerance to frustration.  Remember that physical aggression is channeled positively in class and tempered with strict discipline and control  What surprises many parents is how the discipline, control and increased concentration carries over from Tae Kwon Do into everyday life.  You may find your child more organized in school, more respectful to others, and more goals oriented.
